Keeping Pets Safe This New Year's Eve

Keeping Pets Safe This New Year’s Eve

Fireworks can be overwhelming for our animals, but a little preparation makes a big difference.
• Give calming chews or vet‑approved medication if needed
• Exercise dogs earlier in the day to help them relax
• Feed them early so they’re settled before the noise starts
• Keep white noise, a fan, or the TV on to soften outside sounds
• Make sure they’re safely secured inside the home

Let’s help our pets feel safe, supported, and loved as we welcome the new year.

Thinking About Adopting… but Feeling Unsure?

At Texas Boston Terrier Rescue, we want you to know something important — you do NOT have to foster to adopt.

We understand that adopting a dog is a big decision, and we never want it to feel rushed or overwhelming. That’s why we give you plenty of time to make sure the dog you take home is truly the perfect fit for your family, your lifestyle, and your heart before you move forward with adoption.

Our goal is success — for you and for our dogs. We carefully evaluate each dog, get to know their personalities, needs, and quirks, and provide honest guidance every step of the way. When you adopt from us, you’re not doing it alone.

We do everything we can to ensure our dogs are set up for success, so that when an adoption is finalized, it’s the beginning of a happy, lifelong match.

If you’ve been considering opening your home but needed reassurance, this is your sign. Ask questions. Take your time. Let us help you find the dog that’s meant to be yours.

❤️ Your future best friend may already be waiting. ❤️

Do you crate your dog at home?

Crates aren’t “doggy jail.” They are safe havens! For foster dogs, crate training is a vital step.
✅ Helps them transition smoothly into adoptive homes
✅ Supports pups with anxiety when you leave the house
✅ Enrichment toys make crate time fun and calming

Most dogs learn to love their crate it’s their cozy den, not punishment. 🐾

STBTR Golden Years program

Do you know someone who would benefit from the companionship of an older dog?

Do you know someone who would benefit from the companionship of an older dog? STBTR has a program we call Golden Years. What does that mean? I’m glad you asked. A senior citizen can adopt a senior dog and the adoption fee is waived! STBTR also furnishes Heartworm prevention for the life of the dog. Why do we do this? Because these older dogs many times need a soft, quiet place to land. Usually in your lap or on the couch beside you. They have fewer issues such as chewing, accidents in the house, and much less energy. Could one of these be just what you are missing in your life? If so, please complete an application. We’d love to talk to you about our adoptable seniors!
