Dixie Dee – puppy

posted in: Happy Tails! | 0

Meet Miss Maddie and her new pup, Dixie Dee. Dixie Dee was one of Tory’s pups – remember Tory and her two pups that came in from Corpus a few weeks ago. Long story short is Maddie needed a puppy in her life, one that she could raise and learn to take care of. Dixie Dee will be fostered by Maddie’s family until her vetting is complete, and then will join their family forever.

Remember our fosters are so important to what we do. We don’t have a physical facility so if we don’t have a foster home for a dog coming in, we can’t take that dog regardless of how bad it needs us. Our fosters get to play the trump card – they get first shot at any dog they are fostering!

Special thanks to Terri McKinley who rode shotgun with me late one night to make the pickup, to Anette Uher for taking them in to the only spot we had for quarantine late that night, and to Jennifer Manuel for fostering all three until the babies were old enough to leave mom! It truly takes a village.

Frankie – formerly known as Pinkie

It’s official. Pinkie is now Frankie and has found her forever home with Yesenia and Matthew Salinas. They came all the way from San Antonio to meet her and fall in love. She has made herself right at home, and her family cannot fathom not having her forever. Here’s to your newest adventure!

Thank you!!!

We cannot say thank you enough for the Cat Banjo auction purchases that were made to benefit STBTR. We received $1288 to go toward keeping our rescue babies needs met. Through your generosity, and that of Cat Banjo, we will continue saving those that come into our care one dog at a time.

We sincerely appreciate all our fosters, volunteer hours, miles driven, donations, prayers – everything that goes into helping us continue this journey we are on!

We have items that were donated for an auction that will be scheduled soon. We were so grateful when Cat Banjo offered to do one on August 12 that we decided to push ours back a few weeks. We’ve got some really nice items that we can’t wait to show you -some hand made by our volunteers and friends!

Again, we are humbled by our tribe allowing us to continue doing what we love by supporting us day in and out. Much love to all.

Marvel ~ Happy Tail ❤️

Remember Marvel? It took awhile for him to find his person. But enter Scott Marion into the picture from Tulsa, OK. He drove down all the way to Houston to meet him and it was a perfect match!

Initially he was going to make a second trip to get everything ready and take him home, but decided he was taking him home that day! Sometimes we get discouraged that a dog remains in foster care longer than we like, but the perfect home always is out there!

Congrats to Marvel on his new home and to Scott on his new family member. Special, special thanks to Michelle Reilly, who tirelessly fostered Marvel during his time with STBTR! We are beyond thrilled!

See these two sweet boys.

Chewy is an English Bulldog whose sight has been compromised by his eye folds. Additionally his eye lids turn in and further irritate his eyes. He desperately needs his eye lids surgically repaired to lessen further irritation to his eyes. He is the meekest, sweetest boy and deserves whatever we can do to help him. His surgery is estimated at around $650.

Boomer is a doll as well but came to us with a perineal hernia. Now we’ve seen and heard of a lot of medical issues, but this one is new to us. Sadly it is a surgery that none of our vets do but is necessary to his health. We have been referred to TAMU and have been given an estimate of $3500-4200.

Both of these guys deserve to be helped. But these two surgeries financially will be more than we can bear financially and still continue helping others that come in.

We are putting together an auction to help offset these expenses. Look for details in the next few days. And please help if you can.

Donations can be sent via PayPal to southtxbtrescue@gmail.com. Please choose the friends and family option so that fees are not deducted.

We love our tribe who always helps when it’s needed and we could not do rescue without each of you!

Welcome Trey!

Help us give a warm welcome to Trey, our newest STBTR member. Trey is about a year old, but did test Heartworm positive at the shelter. STBTR will get his treatment started and complete his vetting and he will be ready for his forever home. Let us know if you’d like to meet this sweet boy!
